long cold me
two days with couples of extraordinary. first, let say yearghh. i managed to run away from my tabligh usrah session. i got home late last night. my housemate was waiting for me from 5pm till 7pm. but he couldn't see even my shadow that evening. what a relief.....
i finished my class at 4pm but i did went to computer center and look out for intersting news from m'sia through nstp.com.my. later i when to city center for some window shopping. my campus is situated in the heart of bradford city center. so it will be no difficulties for me to run there or run here if something occurs. i went into HMV, one of the UK's music store besides Virgin Records.
oo damn it. the price of a music CD is much expensive than what we have in m'sia. a piece of radiohead cd cost £10.99 which almost RM77. if in m'sia we could get it as high as RM43. but the best thing is the single CD. singles cd only cost for about £3 = RM21. that's kinda cheap compared to m'sia. i manage to bought 2 singles already. one cost me for £1.99 and i've got 10% discount more because i'm a student. but you have to present your student id and will get free discount card. kan best kalau kat m'sia ada cam tu.....for zach, there will gonna be a true singles CD shopping for me through out the year. ha hah ha.....
last to days i discover a great music sceen at bradford. there is a pub/club own by this gothic/wierd/metal maniac group. but i'm still got the nerve to get into the pub since a friend told me that if you're not wearing something that similar to them, there will be going to have a brawl and you will definitely being kicked as horrible as you could be.
and the most memorable part is, i've been approached by two girls. the sexiest girl i've ever since. it all happened last two days. i went home late, as usual to avoid the tabligh thang'. from city center to my home i need to past by the bradford college which located next to university. in between there is a lane. at night the lane is full of chicks, prositutes build from college and university students. i didn't know that kind of environment exist here. so i walked and walked, and i heard a voice wishpering at me. "hi hensome. are you lonely tonight. wanna get companied?" waa...she said i'm hansome......(perasan gua) so for fun i did asked her how much. it is £6 for one night stand. gila apa.....if 'tanduk setan' keluar la masa tu, for sure i've already angkut balik rumah. tapi ingat tuhan....
what a week i have currently. may be tomorrow i'll go to leads. jumpa utbah, mungkin....so, cheers buddy

I get a lot of these
CONSCIENCE CHRONOLOGY
Today:
Saw on this blog a posting from Leman, asking recommendations for the best this and that IT gadget. The first thing that crossed my mind - the magazine I write for costs only RM3.90 je. But if anyone reads it (as if, who am I kidding?) the material can't be taken in 100% - while some products we get to tell the reader all about it, the rest might have been presented slightly skewed-ly - due to pressure from the advertiser or simply cause the Ed. love/hate it.
Yesterday:
Rafiq Bean called Jenny B and told her I have not been picking up his calls or replying his SMS. Tis true though - I don't want to answer his calls cause he never ask "How are you doing?" but goes straight to "What's the best digital camera now huh?". (Kinda reminds me how annoying Ustad Kamal was everytime he calls me up for some IT gadget recommendation. I remember cursing on one of his calls, and he said my pahala kurang already for cursing during a fasting month. Yeah? How'd he know for sure? Bet he too got his pahala reduced for annoying me! Ha!) Jenny B was just asking me about Mac vs PC before Rafiq Bean called.
Day before yesterday:
Rafiq Bean SMSed a couple of times, asking "What's the best digital camera now huh?" - I didn't feel like wasting time typing a reply cause a question like this can't be simply answered by giving a model number. He called a few times too while I was in an assignment - perfect (cause I didn't feel like talking about gadgets). Besides, I already entertained a colleague about new postpaid packs from the newly merged Celcom and TMTOUCH - already spent my braincells there.
Day before day before yesterday:
An old schoolmate who rarely calls asked about notebooks - told her it depends. Before I could continue by asking "Whatcha plannin usin it for?" or "What's your pocket's limit?" she said "Oh you don't know ya?". It was only a split-second silence on my part before I replied "Ha ah - duno lah." She hung up (no "Thank you", simply "OK bye!", but then again, whaddaya expect from a person who announced proudly that she was sent to Australia for training but come back saying "I doesn't know the roads in KL anymore lah!").
Day before day before day before yesterday:
The lady I didn't like in the office asked about handphones. I told her to go for a Motorola model, which I knew would be tough for her to use (considering that she's the kind of computer user who goes around asking how to change the font on her emails and is it true that Notepad files can be opened using MS Word). Not my fault this one is - she was the one asking for the cheapest meapest cameraphone. Had she been a little patient, I might just tell her that for ease of use and further expansion she should invest in either the Nokia7250i or a SonyEricsson T610.
Sorry dahlinks, I melaluted too long.
Betik, I feel it's unfair to throw a list of model names in your way and consider your question answered. IT products kan banyak, each one is good for something - depends on what you wanna use it for. Next time you see me, we can yak about this - I'd have better conscience than what I just related above. Kalau orang lain I will just tell them go buy this or you may wana consider that, tapi kau kan member yg ku kasihi, I'll spare you from my crap!
(Let my Conscience Chronology above be the last piece of crap I tell you guys... I can hope, but I can't promise! Sebenarnya gw sendiri ketidakpastian gimana mau tolong kamu sih, gw lagi excited mau jumpa Gigi ini sore, nggak bisa pikir straight lagi dong... maaf aja.. BTW Neo san, just smile and say no thanks to those tabligh chaps!)

Anna sweat enough
Life has started for Neo, look what he's been up to:
1. Met his coursemates;
2. Got his class schedule;
3. Been to a car boot sale and did a bit of shopping; and
4. (unfortunately) found out that even away at lovely Manchester - the city that dons David Beckham's posters like the guy is bigger than their king (queen?) - is not spared from the puak sana puak sini grime, just MCC - ada gang2 JIMSM, not JIMSM, and not so JIMSM, not so not JIMSM... sounds fun!
Redah je lah Neo san.
p/s: As for that 2pm class on Friday, you should talk to the man holding the class, maybe he'll let you come in a bit late if takbley reschedule.

aku nampak org bogel
today is my first day as a postgraduate student. nothing much yet but there are going so much fun all the way. there are only 15 students in my course and most of them are from china, taiwan and hong kong.
i manage to know a latin girl here. she seat next to me during the induction session. not so beautiful but sweat enough. her name is anna. "macam pelakon cerita miss tres hermanas kat ntv7". then there is a Bollywood friend here. macam hero filem hindustan. his name also quite popular, ajjay. then, hero cerita kung fu pun ada.
the biggest problem a do face here is the solat time. i don't know how i'm going to manage it. i have a class sesion on friday's afternoon at 2pm. i do not know whether i can arrange it since i'm the only muslim in that session....another confusion is the solat time. eventhough the solat time has been standardise, but there are differences in the praying time. banyak fahaman sangat kat sini. group ni tak suka group tu. jadi group ni tak kan pegi sembahyang kat masjid group tu. and at here, there is an exact time for you to have solat berjemaah. not lke in malaysia where we have our solat jemaah when masuk waktu sembahyang. let say the solat zohor is at 1.02pm, the community will only making their solat jemaah at 2.30pm. before that there will not gonna be any solat jemaah. and the times differ from one mosque to another.
betik...rumah ni aku cari sendiri dgn guidence dr malaysian students department. dah sampai sini aru aku menyesal tak apply residence hall. banyak kemudahan yg aku tak dapat since aku dudk luar. yg penting sekali, internet connection. kalau duduk RH walau pun the living fees dia mahal tapi itu dah inclusive all the network/internet, catering, security etc. lagi satu kelmarin ada mamat german tanya aku pasal Alton Park tu. mana la aku tau, tapi ok gak. nanti kalau free boleh pegi sana.
....there were home sick moment in me for the first day. but now i've already recovered and looking forward for a fast and furious pace of challenge.
poket...aku tak jumpa lagi la 'single' yg ok. nanti aku usha lagi. kelmarin ada aku pegi car booth sale, tapi tak banyak yg menarik. mungkin sebab aku pegi lambat kot. tapi aku ada dapat megazine thrasher. siap dpt free cd band darkness fall lagi.
siti....i didn't have ideas to throw out during the writing. may be because of my confusion on the environment here.
i'll keep all of you updates. so, bye for now.

Separuh togel
Ol' Neo sent word on his touchdown, but a reply from the rockstar I believe should make it to the blog. Here's what Poket wrote:

the was, the were, and the we
wooooshh....what a classy classic malay movie. i've never thought of that kind of 'tragedy' would ever happened to me. macam cerita 'awas - da movie' la plak.
the passport verification booth incident was the mix of confusion and 'gelabah'. first the machine could not detect my passport, then it couldn't recognsied my identity. thay was why i have to get back and change to another lane. by this time those you up there really freakin' me out by shouting my name out-loud. so it made me gelabah kejap. later at the second lane, the verification machine still could not detect my passport chip. really menggelabah this time. thought of 'habis la gua. tak dpt pegi la ni.' then suddenly the screen displayed my identity info. so i've got through.
on the air i still hear my name being chanted. waa...like a rock star. seem the fans getting crazy to see their addorable superstar. 'ntah apa2 je.' what else i could do besides waving my hand. that's the kind of action a 'star' must do then.
heyy...there was no huk huk stuff and there will not be one (hope so). i just couldn't found the mechanism that can generate the emotion. so i laughed all the way when i saw my mother's eyes turned to red.
the thing that why i got in so quick was i didn't knew what should i do at that time. i just followed the instruction given by the MARA's officer and ...i really didn't knew what to do. and i almost missed the shuttle train to my flight gate. by the time i reached there the door has already stared to close. with the capability of a runner, i ran to the door and jump into the train. gosh...i made it. and a korean airline's stewardest kept on smiling at me....yeah i know. i'm a gorgeous man. so keep on looking at me.
tell this to tini, my indonesian housemate is going to leave uk next week. he has finished his study here. so i won't be able to get her an indonesian guy. sorry. but an indonesian girl is coming next week and will live in my house. ada awek tinggal dgn aku....!!! oh mama!!! tak tau...apa ni....kejutan budaya sungguh aku.

And send Grik off to UK we did, sort of
Kisah benar ini untuk tatapan dan pengetahuan blogger-blogger Kugiransays sahaja... So keep it down OK... Here goes...
Last Wednesday night I met up with Cik Tin, Sue and Liza, just to catch up since they're there in KLCC and I had an assignment at Nikko H. By late 8PM Cik Tin was wondering who's been trying to call her but could not get through? Cause her voicemail alert SMS is increasing.
It turned out our friend Grik was trying to return her call. She called him earlier that afternoon, but he was out exchanging ringgits to pounds. He must have carried a bundle and came back with a slimmer wallet, so we all thought.
I told Cik Tin that Grik's old mobile number is back in service, maybe she can try that number. I dialled the number and before I can say enough, the battery on my handphone died. Tini took over and when her call finally got through, she began to move slightly away from us as she was talking to Grik. Scandalous!
In the mean time I gave Betik a call, hoping he's there with Grik, and he'll pass me on. But Betik said that he came back from office dead tired and could not send Grik off. Lame.
Then we saw Cik Tin finished off the conversation. My turn! I dialled Grik's number and told him sorry I couldn't send him off and take care and bla bla bla - to which he just okayed everything. Doesn't talk much, this fella.
Cik Tin walked back to us, and she said, "Eh, jom pi antar Grik. Sempat nih."
Liza, who just got to KL from Ipoh, with her big knapsack containing more stuff she wanted to carry to UK said OK.
Sue, whose parents still have weird issues about her coming home late, said OK too.
So I, tired after hearing some bigwigs from Canon; Epson; Olympus; Fuji; Sony and HP talk about the oh-so-exciting new printing standard called "PictBridge", said OKlah.
So we sent out an SMS to Grik, telling him to board his plane only after the last call, which, according to Liza, should happen sometime around 10:30PM. A call to confirm later had him telling us that he'll be boarding at 10:45PM - good.
Some complications arise, such as me finding my stash of cash missing (which I suspect lying dorman on my office desk) and Cik Tin having her car in hiding at the staff residential grounds near Abdullah Hukum (apparently Tini's uncle used to live there and that's why she left her car there when she was caught in a jam earlier).
Money - no problem, Sue got lots. Car at Abdullah Hukum - again no problem, we are all 25 year-olds after all, and we know how to take the LRT. So we all arrived at Abdullah Hukum very shortly after, and made our way across Jalan Bangsar and sneaked into the residential ground (there was a big dog going through a rubbish bin, you see).
As we were about to leave, a car broke down right in front of the residential area gates, blocking our path. Cik Tin said out loud what we all were bitching inside, "Ni misti tak kasi kita pi hantar Grik ni, depan-depan ni pulak dia nak rosak."
But the guy did clear away in a matter of minutes, and after refuelling, we were happily yakking and gossiping away on our way to KLIA via NKVE. We got talking about the misadventure they had sending off Faizal last weekend (Azrul got confused and they all found their way to Putrajaya bus station instead of KLIA).
More talks followed - this time about will Cik Li continue Aya's footsteps and get a job as a cleaner in UK, about the popular gay blogger Nizam and gays in general, about how RM430 was enough when you are just a student in PPP and about why was Skin saying Ha, mamat ni punya lubang bontot besar, clearly referring to Hasrul (in case you want elaboration: what made her said it in front of all of us there at Lotus KL, how come she knew that it was big and why that hole eh? Personally at that time I thought she must have seen him "passing big water" - how innocent no?).
Suddenly there it was, KLIA. And it was only 10:15PM or so - enough time to park and rush to the Departure Hall, that's what we thought, till a call came from Grik, to which Liza answered and announced that he's going in already. We asked him to wait for 5 more minutes as we swerve around for the exit to the car park area.
Liza keep saying turn right, right, right, and Tini and I in the front seats got thinking why the heck does she keep repeating the word? Apparently both Tini and I do have a problem when it comes to differentiating left and right - yep, Tini was about to turn left when Liza finally shove her hand forward (pretty much like Hitler fans always did last time) and sent Tini to the opposite direction.
And got into the car park we did, but as willed by God, there was this lady driver accelerating her Wira at around 9 - 25kmph (literally man!), going and braking along the same route we wanted to go speed through. We bitched about the lady and his driving prowess, Tini's vehicle sniffed the Wira's butt for a few minutes before we finally got to the highest level and parked like nobody's business.
Tini got out - while the rest of us quickly escaped from being locked inside her car - and she started running towards the entrance.
Cik Li, who just had an appoinment with a sinus specialist involving a little tube with a light and a tiny camera going through her nose down in Ipoh, ran too.
I, who didn't like running anymore after clocking an unbelievably lousy 16 seconds on my last 100m sprint (which took place eons ago), ran too.
Sue, though I didn't see what she was doing, must have ran too. (Or she would not have had arrived with us, right?)
We gave a call to Grik's number, only to have a lady (must be his aunt) tell us that Grik dah turun. So we huffed and puffed to the viewing balcony at the end of the Departure hall, wriggling between flocks and flocks of relatives sending off their cleverest family member who's continuing studies overseas, leaving the country in their black MARA blazer.
Suddenly Cik Tin started to call out loudly. The rest of us didn't see who she was calling to but joined the scream anyway. Boy I hope his family didn't hear us! Our four-piece acapella mode must have worked, for a klutzy guy in a dark clothing, standing before the verification post down below, looked back and raised his hand.
Grik was trying to get pass the verification booth when we called (and it's a good thing he's got a weird nickname - imagine calling a name as popular as Faizal). For some reason he could not get through. The first slot blinked him the red "X" a number of times, so he got a bit gelabah (or so it seemed) and changed lanes.
We mused about why he got stuck there - we decided it was cause he didn't get to say proper goodbye to us. Langkah daulat gitu. But alas, our tulah is not as strong as Grik's will to get his behind to UK. He got another red "X" at the next lane, but in his next attempt, he got through. Kalut, kalut.. kelakar.
He stopped right after he passed the machine that didn't like him, and waved to us. We waved back, and we were all grinning like idiots cause we made it.
Then he went on.
I told the gang he must have gotten so overwhelmed when he saw us, he's worried that we might be able to see him huk huk even at this much distance, that's why he had to go quickly. Beg to differ, Neo?
Cik Li said Grik must have been anxious to keep up with his MARA group. Very likely indeed.
Regardless, Cik Tin was mildly disappointed. She said Grik could have turned and walked back a few steps when he got blocked at the first lane. Cause if he did we would have been able to shout good wishes ("Jennifer said study hard and please get one cute Mat Salleh for her when you come back!" and such) maybe this time we'll do it less louder; hence less dramatic for us who have to stay in Malaysia and helm the embarassment for generating a scene ala some cheesy Korean drama serial).
And if he did, continued Tini, she would have been able to throw a photo of herself, for Grik to show to his Indonesian roomate. Now that's a real opportunity lost!
Sue's father happen to work in KLIA, so Sue went to ask him if we can get passes, but he said that at this time, when everybody's sending off their Bobois and Inas, it would be tough to get through. So we abondoned that idea and concentrated on our hungry stomachs instead.
Suddenly Liza said that we could go look for Bat, since he's going off with his wife and baby too. But that's another story...

Go, then come back and say "When I was in youh-kay.."
For Neo, today is it.
United Kingdom, imagine that. All cold and gloomy to accompany tea and shortcakes, white people amidst the sea of Pakis, overaged punks in parts where club music failed to penetrate, dry humour in local indie movies, expensive stuff that makes foreigners want to forget about exchange rates and wonderful journeys through integrated tube system, football played by five-year olds in their respective clubs. That's stereotyped, what of the rest?
So go get educated and tell us once in a while, if Great Britain is really that great. Best of luck.

one 'bloody' evening
this is the story of a saturday day. happened at pasar malam ss5 pj, near to tini's house. it has been a very long time ago when i used to hang out at that pasar malam. so on that evening i went there to look out for something interesting. i used to walk form my house to there. not quite far away from my house, but almost 800 - 900 meters. i really enjoy myself by walking to anywhere. lots of wonderful thing can be captured like fast and furious cars, people on the bus keep on looking at us especially when the bus stops to pick passengers, kena ngorat ngan awek kilang (especially minah indon), having 'police sentry' with the dogs (the best part of walking), and so much more. both of you, siti and leman might know what's gonna happen since you are such a walker too.
back to pasar malam, so i walked and walked and walked along the path between the stalls. saw such delicious bihun sup, thumbs up yong tau fu, everlasting sate, and one stop stall - the pirated music cds. in between those crazy kelana jaya people hoping from one stall to another, there was a very tiny movement that really stole my sight. a soul without a flesh. kept crawling on his chest. no legs to walk and only one hand available to keep on rumbling. above all, he is a malay. i used to met the same kind of person at petaling street 3 or 4 days before, but he is chinese. deep inside my soul, i did gave a pity to him. but there was nothing i'd done except walking passed him with an eye full of symphaty. not even sedekah a cent. then i went to the pirated cds stall and bought annie lennox, tracy chapman and jazz bistro compilation. all of them worth of rm20. then i went home. on the way home, there was the view of the 'crawling man' appeared in my mind. how could i have such sympathy on him but did nothing to ease the burden. let say i donate him a ringgit, at least he could buy a glass of air tebu from one of the stalls. or he could use it to have a plastic of vadeh. i could effort to bought cds for rm20 that surely would not help the entertainment industry and will be left on the cd's rack when i'm heading to uk, but could not dare to help such helpless human being. what a cruel mother's son i am.
i am really sorry for myself to have such kind of being in me. yes, i say it out loud here that i felt sorry for the man, but i'm sure there will be time in the future that i will doing the same thing again. hope i will have that evening memory all the way of my journey to remind me of who i am. hope this can be applide to all of you too.

Can someone help the rockstar?
I got an email from our rockstar friend who told me he could not get on the blog. I have always been the starter of a blog, never invited into one. So I don't have the experience as a guest blogger.
Maybe Leman and Neo can help Rockstar? (Surely getting on the blog must be easier than trying to cook eggs with dishwasher or breaking car locks right? And what talent have I got?)
Dear Leman san, who are your housemates now? And what's it like in Serdang, is it a nice place to live? And for goodness sake, couldn't you find anywhere nearer? After all, by the end of this month there'll be less of us here. Premonition (logic deduction, rather) tells me that there'll be less hangouts days after that, and even if there are any, it will likely have low participation.
Maybe Neo will meet more often with the rest of the ISMers in UK. Well tell us about it when it happens. I may not get to send Encik Grik on Wednesday, cause Canon is launching some printing products I will never get to use. But I'll try lah. Leman san said he's gonna do the huk huk when Neo leaves - that has got to be worth watching!

between me and myself
something wierd and really confusing happened through out these days. it started when i took a bath last week. usually i would turn up music to accompany my bathing. so on that particular bathing session, i turned up the kenny wayne shephard band songs and i sang along with the music. then i realised something strange. of course it is strange. i took the shower gel and put it on my head, and rubbed on the hair shampoo all over my skin. to make it worst, during brushing my teeth, i used kid's toothpaste with strawberry flavour. i only realised of my misused of the things when they had physical connection with me. and when i got out of the bathroom, i was automaticaly said, what a B.E.A.U tiful day. then i lough and lough and lough.
and last night i came home late. almost 10pm i reached home since i went out at 7.30am for MARA's pre-departure briefing. and there were nothing left for me to have dinner except a bowl of rice. so i took a bath and having my isya' praying, then i went to kitchen to have some 'telur dadar'. i place the'kuali' on the stove and looed out for cooking oil. then i grabbed the bottle and pour the oil into the 'kuali'. but again there was something strange with the cooking oil. the color is the same but the 'kelikatan' of it. it looked like...strange. so i take a look at the bottle, and arrrgghhh.....! i have poured 'Sunlight' - the dishwashing liquid with lemon. no wonder the color is the same. and i loughed at myself once again. eh...i think not once, but many many times. then i said what a B.E.A.U tiful day.

Saw Lurks
Managed to catch Acoustic Jam 13 at Actor's Studio last Sunday eve with Neo san and Jenny B. Saw Lurks - whoa - apa itu? Have to admit my first time seeing ol' Pocket aka Zach in his element was really perplexing.
I rather expected him - coloured porcupine hair, sporty getup and all - to be screaming away his worth backed by screeching digital sounds from whatever gadget he's got. Instead I saw my chubby pal yodelling his heart out in melancholy tunes, accompanied by this cute guitarist who came on stage on his bare feet and another copy of Pocket (same hair, almost same getup plus a piercing on his lip - a slightly slimmer version) known as Zach II (even the name rings the same bell) handling the electronics.
For my benefit they did right by starting off with Way Down, which I voted as their best song. They borrowed a piece from Def L which also went well, but the other two songs did not etched themselves long in my mind. But I do believe catchy is not a characteristic for everyone. Nevertheless I enjoyed their music while it was filling the theater and to my humble opinion they do have a sound of their own. Originality is rare nowadays, thus indeed it was a commendable achievement.
Later Pocket came to say hi to us, I told him his songs sounded cool but none of them make good ringtones. Despite that, I did a few ten-second recordings to add to my collection of bootlegs.
It must have been the first time he saw me wearing a bandanna for he asked since when have I been going around in "tudung". For the record I have been resorting to bandannas since schooldays to survive the aftermath of a very short, boyish haircut and other hair-related disasters. (Heh heh. Most people never knew how skeptic I can be towards tudung mamas under the age of 30. Even more so after a very revealing episode of NTV7's recent Edisi Siasat.)
The highlight of the event was Jenny B (who smuggled a cup of coffee and a couple of muffins into the hall) stealing limelight from Jason Lo. Muah-hah-ha!
Mr Leman has been very quiet.

I missed Mars
Of late ramai pulak people I know getting some limelight via the paper and digital media. Seems like everyone's doing somewhere and going something. The world must be spinning faster than I thought. Or maybe I'm just caught in a timewarp.
Things are apparently going well for dear ol' Pocket, who has yet to respond to my invitation to join this blog - now we all know why - with a new co and the band getting groupies it's not surprising that he can't find time to check mail nor write gibberish stuff like what I'm doing. But hey, I write for a living, and I need to get better at it so I must practice - bottomline is, I should not feel guilty for blogging too much when the deadline's looming.
So Neo san, bila lagi Lurks ada performance? Since I might miss Acoustic Jam 13, I'll be trying to catch other gigs then so gimme the details, thanks. By the way, I'm still trying to burn a copy of Cokelat for you, hopefully I'll get to pass it to you before you fly off! Meanwhile, take a listen to The Groove. As for Betik aka Encik Leman, how are you doing man?

A boy of his own
Lurks is Zach and Zach is Moh. Fariz Mohd. Pahmi and Mohd. Fariz Mohd. Pahmi is Pocket...Yeah!! Pocket told me couple days back that he gonna perform at Actor's Studio this Sunday. Actually not only this Sunday, but Lurks is currently a phenomenone in KL urban music scene. Almost every weekend Lurks gettin on stage through out clubs and pubs. Ask who ever KL music scene lover and they would say they know Lurks. See....the impact that have been made by a young talent so called Zach. Started by himself alone, working on a PC in Quantum Business's HQ every after office hour, now there are several good musician back-up Lurks during performances. I do proud to say Lurks is my friend. And I really proud of him.

Alamak it's Lurks!
Read in the Malay Mail today that Lurks will be one of the acts to perform in Actor's Studio's Acoustic Jam 13 this Sunday (Sept 7). Showtime's at 8.30PM, and ticket's at RM22 a spank.
The first mention of Lurks was in the second paragraph of the article - my failure to associate the name to a certain dear friend was a clear overlook on my part. Until I came to the paragraph that said "Lurks is made up of Fariz bin Mohd Fahamy alias Zach (vocal and sampling)..." and I thought - he eh, nama Melayu ni sounds like the name Shezan once wrote on her ECO 132 assignment paper tapi rasanya lain skit.. (for the record, Shezan started with the aim to copy the answers off somebody's homework sheet but in such a rush she was that she almost end up xeroxing the whole of dear old Pocket's).
The article also mentioned that Lurks music is a mix of electronica, synth and trip-hop, and retro sounds coupled with emotionally driven vocals. Interesting adjectives - sounds like serious stuff man! So our rockstar friend Pocket is getting a slot on an important stage - alongside the likes of Lo, Naked Breed and all - cool. Check out that "emotionally driven vocals" in action. But Acoustic Jam 13 takes place on my dad's birthday - so I might have to give it a miss!
